As part of our regular annual health checkup, we requested the Lions Club International Jayamahal Distt Chapter to conduct an Eye and Ear checkup outreach program for us. We thank Sri Harisha D N, Treasurer and Naveen Babu, both from Lions Club, for taking personal interest in this program.
More than 200 children from our school between classes 1 to 10 got their eyes and ears tested by qualified opticians and audiologists from Dr SR Chandrashekar Institute of Speech and Hearing.
Free spectacles were donated to children who had eye problems and prescriptions for further investigations, and ear checkups were given to those who had ear issues.
About 10% of the children had eye problems that were identified and rectified. About 5% of the children had ear problems that were identified as needing further investigations.
The children and their parents were pleased by the generosity of the Lions International Bangalore Jayamahal Chapter, and we, the Management of Shishu Vihar, thank them profusely for their help
