Sarawati Pooje at MSV – 2026
Sarawati Puje was celebrated on the 7th of March 2026. It is celebrated to mark the completion of another successful academic year, to wish the graduating students of the 10th std, and to welcome the students of UKG into the school fold.
On this occasion, the prayer lamp was lit by HM, class teachers and committee members. Further all the 10th std children were invited to light lamps placed in each one’s name. The UKG children were also encouraged to do similarly with support and help.
Committee members distributed the Hall Tickets of the 10th std students and spoke to the graduating students advising them to hold the name of the school high through their academic performance and conduct wherever they go in the future.
A picture was taken off the staff with the class passing out ie 10std.
All school children were given snack and sweet gift bags to take home on this occasion.

A Visit to The Raman Research Institute – 2026
The Raman Research Institute is an autonomous research institute engaged in research in basic sciences. The institute was founded in 1948 by the Indian physicist and Nobel Laureate Sir C V Raman. It was restructured in 1972 to become an aided autonomous institute receiving funds from the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India.
Apart from its focus on research, The institute has outreach programs and their science exhibition is one such.
This year on Feb 28th 2026, children of the 7th, 8th and 9th stds of our school were invited to visit the RRI on the day of their science exhibition.
The children were taken by bus to the institute and were introduced to various stalls where experiments were displayed and demonstrated. The students went from stall to stall making notes and asking doubts on experiments displayed that were largely based on Newtonian and Quantum Physics. Refreshments were given to the children during their 4-hour trip.
The children enjoyed their day out that combined fun with education.

MSV Annual Excursion – 2025
The 6th to 10th standards of MSV went on a day’s excursion on the 16th of December 2025.
63 children, 4 admin staff and 8 teachers went on the trip to Mandya Milk Diary (Nandini), Payana – the car museum, Talakadu and Shivana Samudra. The trip began at 6.30am with the children being taken by two buses. The first stop was at Kengal near the Hanumantha Temple. The children had their breakfast and also had a darshan at the temple after which they set off to the Mandya Diary.
At the Mandya Diary, an appointed guide took the children around explaining the process of procurement, quality check, pasturization and packing of milk and then process of making other by products like curds, butter and sweets. Children walked the tour and asked pertinent questions to the guide. They were all given a buttermilk pack by the factory
Next the group went to Payana – the Car Museum where children saw a wide display of various vintage vehicles. The group then stopped for lunch at a convenient place and then headed for Talakadu where the dual wonders created by man and by nature were admired. Children were allowed to play in shallow waters of the Kaveri under supervision.
After Talakadu, the children went to Shivana Samudra which is a famous river island and waterfall on the Kaveri River, located in Mandya district. The children enjoyed the view in the evening over hot bondas that were provided to them.
The group returned safe and sound to the school at night and after a head count, were handed over to their parents.
It was a very memorable annual excursion.

MSV Valedictory Celebrations – 2025
25-Nov-2025: Our founder Thirumallamma, was born in November and during that month our school celebrates her life and contributions to our school via the valedictory function.
Students are acknowledged for their achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The Thirumallamma memorial award is given to the highest achiever across middle school and high school. A shield is given to the student to acknowledge the achievement. Merit awards which include cash prizes are given to the toppers in individual classes and to subject toppers in each class. Awards are also given for students who have progressed well in yoga, arts and other co curricular activities.
This year, the event was held on the 25th of November. Sri Sheel Kumar Gautam, the Chief Manager of Canara Bank, Malleshwaram, 5th cross, graced us with his presence as our chief guest. Our President Dr. Krishan Prasad along with other committee members and some donors and well wishers were also present on the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, students of various classes performed cultural programs such as folk dances and songs to entertain the guests and the students. The Chief Guest spoke on the occasion and, as a true banker, encouraged the students to begin saving money at a young age. The President of the school also spoke congratulating the children and encouraging them to work harder and achieve even better.
All attendees including the guests, teachers and students were given sweets and savouries on the occasion. The program which lasted for 2 hrs between 10.30am and 12.30pm, was appreciated and liked by all.

Sports Day at MSV-2025
On the 11th of November 2025, MSV celebrated its Annual Sports Day under the able guidance of our Sports Teacher Aditi Raj.
The community grounds at Malleshwaram was hired for the day for this purpose.
In the days prior to this, indoor sports competitions were held for carrom and chess, across classes. Games and sports for nursery and kindergarten were also held in the school premises.
On the assigned day ie 11th November, students from classes 1 to 10 were taken to the Malleshwaram Community Grounds.
A March Past was conducted as the competition was declared open. Competitions in various individual and group sports including 100m, 200m and relay races, shot put and discus throw and kho kho were held. Boys and girls participated in separate races and children were grouped age and class-wise. First second and third prizes were awarded for each group and category.
Children enjoyed themselves through the day. They were provided refreshments.
In all, it was a memorable and enjoyable day for the children who went back home tired but happy and satisfied.

The MSV School Exhibition-2025
MSV has an annual school exhibition where children across classes display projects based on the subjects and topics that they study. Children from UKG to 10th Standard enthusiastically make 3D models or illustrate on charts – selected topics and explain them to the audience on the day of the exhibition.
This year, the school exhibition which was held on 4th Nov 2025, was open to all. Parents, neighbours and members of the school management and other involved members of the society enthusiastically visited the exhibition stalls. Children had displayed models related to subjects they study – Gen. Science, Social Science, Mathematics and Language.
The eagerness of the students to demonstrate and talk about their projects to the audience was palpable.
The judges patiently heard out their explanations and graded the children on counts of creativity, expression and clarity of the theme. Children in each class were awarded the first and second prize.
Displays included the Chadrayaan model and other such, Symbolic and creative display models of mathematical concepts and Models on the environment and the world around us.
Parents were very impressed to come across Sanskrit script displays where the students explained the model is fluent Sanskrit.
In all, it was a very successful and educative day for the students and a reassuring day for the parents and teachers who are invested in the well-being of their wards.
MSV Ganesha Drawing Event-2025
2-Sep-2025: Around the time of the Ganesha festival, an event was organised in the school for children of the 1st to 5th standards. They were asked to express their ideas of Ganesha through drawings. It was wonderful to see the creative juices flowing. Some amazing drawings manifested through those tiny fingers. It was a delight for the teachers who watched as the drawings evolved. Some of the art work is displayed here along with visual of the children enjoying their drawing event. The event wasn’t a competition and there were no prizes as each art work is unique and cannot be judged by a standard yardstick.

Independence Day celebration at MSV – 2025
15-August-2025: India’s Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2025 at our school with great enthusiasm.
The national flag was hoisted by the President of the school Dr Krishan Prasad. The assembled students sang the Naada Geete, and the National Anthem and saluted the flag with reverence. There was a march past and a drill in which students of all classes participated with joy. The Physical Training teacher Ms. Aditi guided the students in these activities. Students gave speeches in Kannada and English explaining the significance of the Independence Day. Tiny tots also participated in a fancy dress competition where they were encouraged to dress like any freedom fighter. Children came dressed like Dr Ambedkar, Kitoor Rani Chennamma, Pt. Nehru, an Indian Soldier etc. Committee members were present and they literally the lamp and honoured the portrait of Bharat Mata and Mahatma Gandhi ji.
The celebration was a success and the purpose was to instill a national fervour and a sense of patriotism in the students.

21-June-2025: As we do every year, school elections were conducted to elect the school leaders for the academic year 2025-26.
Usually we have a paper ballot. This year, as a social initiative we decided to do away with excessive use of paper and opted for the e ballot. This was done via an app called the Voting Machine.
There were 6 posts for which elections were to be held and one mobile was used for each post. In addition there was a master mobile which recorded every vote logged in on any of the 6 mobiles.

Police Awareness Sessions with MSV Students
Feb 2025: The Malleshwaram Shishu Vihar regularly interacts and interfaces with the local community as part of practical life education for our children.
Today, children from the 7th std, who are entering their teens, were educated by the local police at the Malleshwaram police station about the dangers of tobacco and drug use and the vast prevalence of cyber crime.
The children were encouraged to ask questions and freely interact with the police personnel to understand the problems and threats involved.

Ear and Eye Checkup Camp – 2025
9th Jan 2025: As part of our regular annual health checkup, we requested the Lions Club International Jayamahal District Chapter to conduct an Eye and Ear checkup outreach program for us. More than 200 children from our school between classes 1 to 10 got their eyes and ears tested by qualified opticians and audiologists from Dr SR Chandrashekar Institute of Speech and Hearing.

MSV Annual School Day – 2024
The Malleshwaram Shishu Vihar celebrated its 71st annual day on 22nd November 2024 at Seva Sadana auditorium at Malleshwaram. The school has a practice of celebrating its annual day on 22nd November every year, which happens to be the birthday of our school founder Smt. B K Thirumalamma.

Parents Teachers Meet – 2024
At the end of each exam or test, meetings are held with the parents of students to appraise them of the progress of the children. Class and subject teachers meet the parents along with the concerned child individually and share their progress report cards. Parents are also told about the appreciable and desirable qualities of each child as well as concerns wrt the child. This forum also helps the parents to speak about domestic issues that might be affecting the child as well.
Recently, the parent teacher meeting was conducted on 9th November 2024. The agenda of the meeting was announcement of results of first summative assessment (SA1) and review of student performance.

MSV Celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava Day – 2024
The Kannada Rajyotsava Day was celebrated at the MSV School on 1st of November, 2024. The students, teachers, staff and the management of MSV participated with great enthusiasm.
The program was initiated with the Flag Hoisting by Smt Radhika Prasad, a commitee member. Both the Karnataka and National Flags were hoisted.
