The 6th to 10th standards of MSV went on a day’s excursion on the 16th of December 2025.
63 children, 4 admin staff and 8 teachers went on the trip to Mandya Milk Diary (Nandini), Payana – the car museum, Talakadu and Shivana Samudra. The trip began at 6.30am with the children being taken by two buses. The first stop was at Kengal near the Hanumantha Temple. The children had their breakfast and also had a darshan at the temple after which they set off to the Mandya Diary.
At the Mandya Diary, an appointed guide took the children around explaining the process of procurement, quality check, pasturization and packing of milk and then process of making other by products like curds, butter and sweets. Children walked the tour and asked pertinent questions to the guide. They were all given a buttermilk pack by the factory
Next the group went to Payana – the Car Museum where children saw a wide display of various vintage vehicles. The group then stopped for lunch at a convenient place and then headed for Talakadu where the dual wonders created by man and by nature were admired. Children were allowed to play in shallow waters of the Kaveri under supervision.
After Talakadu, the children went to Shivana Samudra which is a famous river island and waterfall on the Kaveri River, located in Mandya district. The children enjoyed the view in the evening over hot bondas that were provided to them.
The group returned safe and sound to the school at night and after a head count, were handed over to their parents.
It was a very memorable annual excursion.
